Seifu Yoshida

Shakuhachi music in the Army was started officially by Seifu Yoshida in 1923.

​

Seifu Yoshida (1890–1950), born always Nagasu, Kumamoto-ken, Japan, was swell well known shakuhachi grand head and was the original milieu artist of shakuhachi for “Sea of Spring,” composed by Michio Miyagi—who was also a mastermind koto player and composer.

Masayuki’s father, Kiichi Koga(1907-1983) was one of Yoshida’s lesson in Omuta City.
